SAN RAMON VALLEY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS REGARDING CREATION OF A DISTRICT BOARD DISTRICT-BASED ELECTORAL SYSTEM PURSUANT TO ELECTIONS CODE SECTION 10010

In order to achieve compliance with the California Voting Rights Act, the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District invites all interested persons to attend public hearings to receive community input on district boundaries and maps for the formation of District Board districts for elections. The first two hearings will be to receive public input on communities of interest that should be kept together in one district.  At the second and third hearings, the District Board will discuss, consider, and take action on one or more district map(s). The District Board's actions may include sequencing of elections, introduction, and adoption of an ordinance, and such other matters as may be related to the formation of District Board districts.   The schedule for the hearings is as follows:
  • February 27, 2019 - Public Hearing to Receive Input from the Community Regarding the Creation of a District Board District-Based Electoral System (Hearing 1 of 2)
  • March 27, 2019 - Public Hearing to Receive Input from the Community Regarding the Creation of a District Board District-Based Electoral System (Hearing 2 of 2)
  • April 24, 2019 - Public Hearing on Proposed District Election Maps
  • May 22, 2019 - Public Hearing on Proposed District Election Map; Adoption of District Election Maps; Potential consideration of Adoption of Ordinance Instituting District-Based Elections

All hearings will be held at 1 p.m. at District headquarters, located at 1500 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon. Please check this page for any potential change in meeting dates and times.
