Director Jay Kerr was first elected as a member of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Board in 2012 and has served as President and Vice President, and on various subcommittees. Currently, Director Kerr serves as Vice President of the Board.

Director Kerr is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. He founded and owned veterinary hospitals in San Ramon and Danville for over 25 years. He worked as a veterinarian in the San Ramon Valley for almost 40 years.

Director Kerr’s current community activities include:

• Director, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District;
• Northern California coordinator of CA Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (disaster response group for animals);
• Member and Past-President California Veterinary Medical Association;
• Member of American Veterinary Medical Association – serve on Council on Education;
• Member San Ramon Valley Kiwanis Club for 25 years, Past President; and
• Graduate Leadership San Ramon Valley 2013.

Jay is a Bay Area native and has lived in San Ramon since 1980. He and his wife, Eileen, raised their two children, Erin and Nathan, in the San Ramon community. They now enjoy being grandparents to Margot and Maisie.
