SAN RAMON, CA - San Ramon Valley Firefighters responded to a structure fire located at 930 Lexington Place in San Ramon on Saturday just after 4:30 p.m. Six engines, two trucks, one paramedic ambulance, one breathing support unit, three chief officers and one fire investigator were called to the scene.
Crews from Station 39 were first on scene and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames showing from the car port and garage areas of the home. The fire had also spread to the neighboring home. Crews began an aggressive offensive attack on both homes and had the fire under control in less than 60 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. One firefighter sustained a minor injury, but is expected to make a full recovery.
San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District reminds residents to have working smoke alarms installed in all bedrooms, outside all sleeping areas and on every level of your home. Test your smoke alarms once a month and change the batters twice a year.
